Sources
These records come from public reporting and institutional sources. They are distinct from Pawan Sharma's photographs, interviews and fieldwork; inclusion does not imply that he visited or photographed a theatre.
Each status describes what a dated source documents. These are not claims about present operating status.
Markers locate cities approximately, not theatre buildings. Coordinates are rounded city reference points from government sources. Bhopal, Indore, Ratlam and Ujjain use published city weather-observation coordinates; these should not be labelled building locations or exact city centres.
